Log: 2008.12.29

Activity: Running
Distance: 6.56 miles
Time: 60:00
Pace: 8:41 (not including wu or cd)
Elevation: 1%

Notes:

I felt much more comfortable today and the pace even felt easy which is a good sign. I stretched with a band afterwards which I plan to make a regular habit of. I am hoping that will minimize the occurrence of my knee pain flareups.

Log: 2008.12.28

Activity: Running
Distance: 8 miles
Pace: 8:41
Elevation: Light hills on tm

Notes:

I struggled through the first part of this run which concerned me. However, about halfway through things started to shake out and I felt better. Probably some lingering fatigue from Christmas, my cold, and the time trial

Log: 2008.12.27

Activity: Lifting and Yoga
Time: 30:00

Notes:

We finally finished our exercise room in the basement and it is wonderful. It's like having my own private gym. Our Christmas present to each other was a new tv which now adorns the wall in front of the treadmill. All the better to watch Jack with :)

TIME TRIAL: 2008.12.26

Activity: Running - TIME TRIAL
Distance: 5 miles

Time Trial Distance: 5K
Time: 20:11

Notes:

I went all out this go around and definitely felt like there was nothing in the tank when I was done. The good news is that this correlates to the right Daniel's VDOT for a 3:14 marathon. The aptitude is there - now I just have to get my fitness together.

Notes:

This is the fourth consecutive day which is the longest streak I have had since becoming pregnant over a year ago. I'll probably take tomorrow off to rest my legs but this was good practice for marathon training which starts soon!

Finished out season 3 of 24. Now I need to go back and watch Season 1 and part of Season 2 that I haven't seen. Thankfully Cleveland has a long winter and I have many miles to put in before my May marathon.

Log: 2008.12.05

Activity: Running
Time: 40:00
Distance: 4.33 miles
Pace: 8:48 (not including wu or cd)
Incline: 1%

Notes:

This was my first day at my new "easy" pace as determined by Tuesday's time trial. Everything felt fine and no soreness afterwards. Daniel's calls for 8:55 pace but my treadmill only does 8:48 or 8:59 - I figured it was to opt for the harder pace...

Distance: 5 miles
Incline:1 %

Time Trial Details:
5k - 21:15, Pace: 6:51; Splits: 7:10, 6:51, 6:41

Felt good (up 3 VDOTs for Daniel's) and may have more in the tank. I'll retest at the end of the month. Pretty happy ro be running this sort of time 5 months post-baby. Of course, I'm still far from my PR but that was 10 years and 2 babies ago...
