I can't believe I am almost there. In a short period of time I will have a brand spanking new baby. Also almost as unbelievable is the fact that I am still running. When I first got pregnant I sort of set a personal goal to see if I could run as long as last time (36 weeks). With recurring knee issues, a ton of craziness in my non-running life and a toddler to care for, it didn't seem always possible. But here I am and I might just cross the baby finish line still running!

I worked today which is more restful than being home with an energetic 2 year old. Since I actually had some energy at the end of the day, I hopped on the bike when DS was fast asleep and read and rode.

I am still sore from Sunday's race, especially in my butt and quads (it was a hilly course). My shins hurt too which is always a sign I need new shoes. I'm sure the 26 extra pounds does not help with the pounding on my muscles and bones. So I opted out of running and did an easy spin while DS was napping.

I actually raced today. Of course at 36 weeks "racing" means paying the sign up fee, receiving a t-shirt I can't fit into, and walking all the hills and waddling the flats and downhills. Oh and I did it while pushing my son in the running stroller.

I "raced" it with my friend who is 20 weeks pregnant. We were quite a sight with our bellies and baby joggers.

It was fun and I enjoyed the sunshine and catching up with my friend.

The baby in my belly was no problem. The baby in the stroller was another story. He wailed for 2.5miles straight. It was lovely. I noticed everyone trying to get away from us :) FInally he feel asleep and the rest of the run was in blissful silence.

Needless to say, my 4th place showing from last year was not repeated. But at least I can say I raced at 9 months pregnant!

DH, DS and I headed to alocal park to run. My goal was to run 4min/walk 1 min for 30 min but I felt like crap and ended up walking most of it. The strange thing about pregnancy is that you feel like a champ one day and can barely crawl out of bed the next. I guess that's like non-pregnancy running too, but with preggo running the extremes are bigger.

Easy spin as I read my US Weekly. Somehow I forgot to renew the magazine and I just received my last issue. It may take awhile to get it restarted. Good thing it will be a little time before my tush is cycling ready post-baby, as I don't think I can cycle without the latest on Britney and Jessica...

I'm actually feeling pretty decent running, all things considered. I quit running last time at 36 weeks but I think I may be able to make it to the end this time. That would be pretty cool to say - I ran until the day I delivered. Of course, these last few weeks are like miles 21-26 of the marathon - anything can happen!

I had a doc appt today and they did an ultrasound. All is well in my belly. The baby is in the right position and things are progressing nicely. This is really going to happen, isn't it?

I haven't been in the pool in awhile and found it suprisingly enjoyable. I felt like a little fishy that could swim forever. A really slow fishy. I would probably been eaten by a shark many moons ago if I was actually in the wild. See, I am a horrendous swimmer without a massive growth on my midsection. Add 26 pounds of baby and you get the world's slowest fishy aka shark bait.

I'm still lumbering into spinning class. However, I can no longer hold onto the handlebars because my belly is too big. I am quite the sight.

As part of my Mother's Day treat, DH watched DS so I could have a blissful 30 min run without pushing a joging stroller. It was heaven.

My wonderful parents came in town and offered to clean my house top to bottom. It was the most awesome gift ever. With Grandma and Grandpa here to sit I was able to escape for a quick (time wise, not speed!) run.

Another easy run around the neighborhood with DS in the jogger. My neighbors think I am nuts to be:
1) running
2) in the rain
3) while pushing a running stroller
4) while 8 months pregnant

I had two different neighbors tell me as much (but nicely). I guess I can kind of see their point...

My husband took the day off work to do some work around the house and graciously offered to watch DS so I could get a run in on the treadmill before work. It felt great to get it done so early but I was dragging all day long.
